The 7 days Tanzania safari is East Africa’s finest single-country circuit — a masterfully paced journey through the four great landscapes of Tanzania’s northern safari corridor. Beginning in Arusha, this itinerary moves into Tarangire National Park’s baobab-studded savannah (the dry-season elephant capital of Tanzania), across the endless grass plains of the Serengeti (the world’s greatest wildlife arena), and up to the extraordinary Ngorongoro Crater rim for two days of game-driving in the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Seven days. Four destinations. An incomparable East African wildlife experience. Blue Lilac Tours & Travel operates this 7-day Tanzania safari as a private, fully guided circuit from Arusha.

Tanzania’s Northern Circuit: The Most Rewarding Safari Loop in Africa
Tanzania’s northern circuit has no peer in the world of wildlife travel. In the space of seven days it offers the intimate, self-contained wildlife theatre of the Ngorongoro Crater (a collapsed caldera supporting one of Africa’s highest wildlife densities), the boundless spectacle of the Serengeti (stage to the greatest wildlife migration on earth), the ancient baobab grandeur of Tarangire (with its extraordinary dry-season elephant herds), and the vibrant energy of Arusha as a base. Each destination complements the others — the enclosed drama of the Crater, the vast open stage of the Serengeti, and the intimate riverine corridors of Tarangire create a progressively richer wildlife experience across the week.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Depart after breakfast and drive south to Tarangire (approx. 2 hours). Enter the park mid-morning for a full afternoon game drive. Tarangire is dominated by the Tarangire River, which becomes a magnet for wildlife in the dry season — thousands of elephants, buffalos, wildebeest, zebras, and the extraordinary spectacle of 800-year-old baobab trees dotting the landscape. Dinner and overnight at your Tarangire camp.
Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
Morning game drive in Tarangire (06:00–09:00) before the midday heat. Check out and drive north-west towards the Serengeti (approx. 4–5 hours via Karatu). En route, optional stop at Lake Manyara overlook for panoramic Rift Valley views. Enter the Serengeti in the afternoon. Game drive in the central or southern Serengeti as you travel to your camp. Dinner and overnight Serengeti.
Day 4: Full Day in the Serengeti
The centrepiece of the Tanzania safari. Pre-dawn departure for a 06:00 game drive in the Serengeti — the greatest wildlife arena on earth. The Serengeti’s open plains allow exceptional predator viewing: cheetahs are highly visible as they scan the grassland for prey, lion prides rest in the open, and leopards drape themselves over acacia branches in the riverine corridors. The afternoon drive (14:00–18:30) is ideal for wildlife photography in the golden equatorial light. Dinner and overnight Serengeti.

Day 6: Full Day in the Ngorongoro Crater

The crater lake hosts flamingos and pelicans in vast numbers. Picnic lunch inside the crater. Return to the rim in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight Ngorongoro rim.
Day 7: Crater Morning Drive and Return to Arusha
